Venetian Glass
A lush, floral still life, inspired by a journey to Italy, this piece captures the streaks and smears of Venetian glass through expressive palette knife strokes. Venetian glass, famous worldwide, has roots on Murano, an island near Venice, and is celebrated for its vibrant colors, intricate designs, and refined craftsmanship developed over centuries. During her visit to the Murano Glass Museum in 2024, Iris drew inspiration from the ancient vases made in the 1400s, channeling rich history into the painting.
