Solace in the sands
A madrone tree, its red papery bark peeling, bends in a graceful arc, its branches reaching like supplicating arms towards a surreal sky, alive with palette knife textures and aurora borealis. The bright sky illuminates the upper left quadrant with an otherworldly glow. Below, white sand dunes are lightly veiled by a tapestry of shoreline flora – beach strawberry, dune goldenrod, and wild rye – their delicate forms swaying in a salty breeze. The madrone's sinuous shadows of pooling purples swirling across the bottom right quadrant like a river, beckons the viewer to shed their shoes and step onto the cool, yielding sand. It's an invitation to navigate the fragrant labyrinth of bushes, to pass beneath the madrone's watchful gaze, and finally, to surrender to the embrace of the waiting waves.
