In May 2024, Indian Paintbrush wildflowers began to dot the landscape around the artist's studio, their orange hues brightening the desert. Inspired by this vibrant display, Iris set out to capture the fluorescent glow of these unique petals in a painting. Using her distinctive method of applying high-pressure air to wet oil paint, she created intermingling spheres of color, making the mountains recede and the flower-covered hills roll forward into the foreground. This contemporary landscape stands out in her portfolio, marking a new era in her exploration of landscapes.
