A culturally ambiguous female figure, skilled in archery and horseback riding, commands attention in this breathless scene. The tension in the archer's muscles, the wind in her headdress, and the anticipation are tangible–in just one moment, she will let fly the arrow. This otherworldly divine feminine wears a multi-dimensional gown that infuses the composition with a sense of Klimt-like dynamism. At times, her attire comes forward like fabric, then recedes seamlessly into the forest, like negative space. Is she made of matter or non-matter? Who is pursuing this goddess, or whom is she after? Where will that sharp tip of her arrow land? With the exception of the face and arms, this piece was executed without brushes, using oil fingerpainting, resulting in a thick, candy-like texture.
