Inspired by the iridescent beauty of a blue weevil beetle, Iris created this 20x20 oil on canvas to capture its delicate hues—a vibrant little creature that seems to belong perfectly within the lush jungle foliage. The blues and greens, shaped by the play of light on its microscopic structures, both stand out and merge into the natural surroundings. She applied the paint thickly, hoping you might feel compelled to reach out and touch the surface, almost as if you’re brushing against the leaves, stepping into this rich, living scene with me.
